The golden arches immediately spring to mind, as does a hometown favourite co-founded by a Canadian hockey legend.

But the top three may be a bit of a surprise as all the sandwiches come from the same chain: Subway.

Their breakfast footlongs the Egg & Bacon, Egg & Ham and Egg & Cheese took the top spots coming in with 1,080, 1,050 and 990 calories, respectively.

To make up for mowing down on the calorie-heavy culprits, one would have to do up to 908, 882 or 832 burpees, respectively.

Less hungry customers can opt for the six-inch sandwich, effectively cutting the calorie counts by half.

So with that, the next two on the list with the highest calories counts belong to Burger King and their telling names the Enormous Omelette Sandwich (782 calories, which equals 657 burpees) and the Double Crosissan’wich with Double Sausage (764 calories, which translates to 642 burpees) pretty much give it away.
