A line of fast-moving thunderstorms tracked across the Humboldt area last night. Strong winds moved into many regions in the early evening followed by patchy areas of heavy rain. Loonie sized hail was reported in Humboldt.
To the north, a strong cell tracked through delivering short bursts of torrential rain, some hail and similarly strong winds. Environment Canada issued thunderstorm watches in the afternoon, and then warnings as the disturbances developed.
Observers saw plenty of cloud turbulence throughout the region, but no reports of tornados. Some areas of Humboldt and surrounding regions experienced power outages with the storm. The system moved quickly eastward into Manitoba in the overnight hours.
