A male has been charged after wielding a machete at the Taco Time in Estevan Tuesday night.
Estevan Police Service Const. Jeremy Taman said they were called around 11 p.m. to a report of a male carrying a machete and assaulting one of the workers there.
Taman said the male chased workers around inside the business and outside the rear exit before leaving in his vehicle.
"Members responded and subsequent information led to the male's apprehension near his apartment," said Taman.
Police kept the suspect in custody overnight, prior to a Wednesday release on numerous conditions.
The male, who has yet to appear in court and has not been identified, has been charged with assault with a weapon and carrying a weapon dangerous to the public.
Police also laid charges following a theft at a 7-11. They used video and spoke with witnesses, and wound up charging a male for that theft and a theft from a residence the previous night.
Taman said it was a successful night for his team.
"Our platoon did a tremendous job and everyone put a lot of work into this and all the investigations led to the subsequent arrests and resolution of a violent act and multiple thefts around the city."
