There could only be one big guy in the Fast and Furious spin-off.
Dwayne Johnson is an American actor, producer, and former professional wrestling star, also known as The Rock. Johnson rose to prominence as a professional wrestler in the late 1990s, competing in the WWE.
His charming personality and formidable physique made him one of the most popular wrestlers of his era and opened the door to Hollywood.
Known for his ability to entertain and understand what fans want, The Rock is now a hugely successful and popular Hollywood star. He consistently delivers box office hits and seeks out talented individuals to work with to provide the best entertainment experience for audiences.
Back in 2019, Dwayne Johnson expressed interest in bringing DC superstar Jason Momoa on board for the film prior to the release of the Fast and Furious spinoff film, Hobbs and Shaw.
The idea was that Momoa would be Luke Hobbs' brother, but due to scheduling conflicts, the plan wasn't a reality at the time.
Johnson assured fans that he was still excited about the concept and left open the possibility of working with Aquaman in the future. However, before he had a chance to really think about the idea, Vin Diesel cast Jason Momoa as the antagonist, Dante Reyes, in the main Fast and Furious franchise.
In Fast X, Momoa takes on the role of Dante Reyes, the sociopathic son of Hernan Reyes, the Toretto family's main villain in Fast Five.
With Momoa's imposing physicality and commanding screen presence, the actor brought a new level of danger and unpredictability to the Fast and Furious saga, making him one of the most charismatic and insane of the Fast and Furious antagonists.
Thanks to the post-credits scene from Fast X, we now know that the iconic duo of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham will be coming back for the second Hobbs and Shaw sequel. The scene shows Johnson's character meeting Dante Reyes, who is out for revenge for his father's death at the hands of Hobbs in Fast Five.
Though Johnson and Momoa didn't have a chance to work out as brothers on screen, as The Rock promised, the collaboration will still happen, even if it means the two will be on opposite sides of the family.
