Vin Diesel Cutting off the Rock from $6.6B Franchise by Killing Hobbs Off-Screen in Fast X in Major Sacrifice Play? - FandomWire

Dwayne Johnson, who entered the high-octane Fast & Furious franchise in its fifth installment as Luke Hobbs, previously declared that he wouldn’t return to Universal’s biggest franchise. After his departure, Johnson went on to feature in his own fast and furious spinoff series ‘Hobbs & Shaw’. While the Jumanji actor may not care in public, his rival, Vin Diesel may continue to haunt the former wrestler in his wildest dreams.

The Rock and Diesel’s rivalry continues to play like a broken record, and the biggest irony of Johnson’s decision of leaving Fast & Furious films remains that while Johnson’s character may or may not see his end in Fast X, Vin Diesel, who plays Dom in the hit series, might have already dug the grave for Hobb’s character. As the filming of Hobbs & Shaw 2 remains controversial, Diesel’s Fast X is already upping the ante.

Vin Diesel May Have Killed Fast & Furious‘ Hobbs

Dwayne Johnson may have “laughed hard” at  Vin Diesel‘s “tough love” comment following his departure from the Fast & Furious franchise, but it won’t take much time for Diesel to turn it all into “tough hate” as Johnson’s Hobbs & Shaw 2 continues to hang on the gallow of controversy and uncertainty.

While Fast X killing Diogo raises the stakes for Dom’s story in the upcoming Fast X, Vin Diesel may have intentionally or unintentionally dug a grave for Hobbs’ character amid his long-standing feud with Dwayne Johnson. Well, the stakes for Hobb’s story surely remain low as Hobbs & Shaw 2 continue to remain hazy following Johnson’s absence from Fast X.

Recently, Diesel openly declared that it is Dwayne’s tough love that has allowed him to perform better in movies. On this, Dwayne famously said, “I laughed and I laughed hard. I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that.” Well, Johnson may have wished the crew good luck for continuing the franchise without him, but losing the $6.6 billion franchise certainly hurts him in the chest.

The Baywatch star and Diesel haven’t seen each other eye to eye since Johnson declined the Find Me Guilty star’s offer to return to the franchise. Not only this, but Johnson also accused Diesel of manipulation by playing wicked cards in the name of the late actor, Paul Walker. Well, in today’s scenario where Hobb’s character dies a brutal death off-screen, Diesel may be guilty as charged.

Vin Diesel Got Fans By His Side

Dwayne Johnson is known for staging the most epic fights since his wrestling days, but the ten-time world champion may have certainly lost to Vin Diesel. While the star is barely interested in the Fast & Furious franchise, fans couldn’t help but notice his absence. When Vin Diesel tried convincing Johnson, he famously said:

“This past June, when Vin and I actually connected, not over social media, I told him directly — and privately — that I would not be returning to the franchise.

I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return.

I privately spoke with my partners at Universal as well, all of whom were very supportive as they understand the problem.”

But now, Diesel is already upping the ante with Fast X and doesn’t really care about Johnson’s presence. Even fans stand in support of Vin Diesel after Johnson was trolled for his absence from the upcoming movie. One person even questioned the actor’s command, and wrote, “Hierarchy of Power is about to change.” Some called Diesel a better actor than Johnson.

While Johnson’s 2019 Hobbs & Shaw grossed $760 million worldwide, the filming of the second part still remains hit by controversy. First, Universal Pictures was hit by a lawsuit filed by Fast & Furious producer Neal H. Moritz, and now Johnson’s absence from Fast X puts the other franchise in jeopardy. Fast & Furious 10, officially titled Fast X, releases on May 19, 2023.
