UPDATE 12:35 p.m.
Work crews have begun the process of removing debris from beneath the KLO Bridge and traffic has been subject to intermittent closures due to the work.
Sarah Fuller shared a photo of the backlog and she says she has been waiting for 25 minutes, “intermittent closures for debris retrieval. Currently waiting about 25 minutes. Now 12:30. Ahhh. Springtime in B.C.”
ORIGINAL 7:51 a.m.
It appears KLO Bridge is running into some issues due to the high streamflow as rain continues to fall.
Viewer submitted video shows several pieces of debris, including large sticks and branches clogging up a section underneath the bridge.
The creek's water level appears to be a few centimetres from reaching the bridge.
The River Forecast Centre issued high streamflow advisories Monday across the Okanagan, Boundary and Similkameen, and similar advisories remain for the Thompson region and entire Fraser River corridor from Quesnel south to the Pacific.
Central Emergency Operations is reminding residents to stay clear of fast-moving creeks and streams.
