US-based fast-casual chain Fuddruckers Restaurants plans to expand its presence with the opening of ten new locations at malls across the country.
As part of this expansion, the restaurant chain has signed lease agreements with Brookfield Properties.
The buildouts for the new non-traditional locations are planned for the second quarter of the year.
Fuddruckers CEO Nicholas Perkins said: “We are excited to partner with Brookfield Properties, expanding our geographic footprint across the country and making Fuddruckers accessible to an even greater number of guests.”
With its expansion plan, Fuddruckers plans to create 150 new employment opportunities.
The restaurants will be opened in the US states of Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, California and Alabama.
In addition to the new restaurants, the company is also planning to open several ghost kitchens.
Once opened, customers will be able to place their orders in-person, at an ordering kiosk at the ghost kitchen location, as well as through the company’s website or mobile app.
The order can either be collected by the customer or delivered to them.
Brookfield Properties Business Development vice-president Michelle Isabel said: “Through our Partner to Empower Program, we are committed to partnering with black and minority-owned businesses, and it is incredibly exciting for us to collaborate with Fuddruckers on this expansion.
“We look forward to adding ten new Fuddruckers in our portfolio. We know our communities will enjoy the new addition.”
The company plans to open its ghost kitchens in Texas, at locations in Houston, Plano, Frisco and Austin.
Last March, US-based restaurant operator Luby’s divested a number of company-owned Fuddruckers restaurants and the franchise of those restaurants to affiliates of Black Titan Holdings.
