How to Level Fast - New World Wiki Guide - IGN

Note that you will want to level up all of your trade skills and maximize your total inventory and storage capacities in order to make this method work as well as it can. You will also want to make sure that you've joined your Faction. Speaking of, here's everything you need to know about How to Choose a Faction and Faction Benefits. The rest is explained in more depth below!

Forget about grinding mobs or doing story quests as a means of leveling up. Doing those things can give you better gear and access to special perks like your first Azoth staff, respectively, but they're a poor way of leveling up.

At a cursory level, you should be grinding as many Town Projects and Faction Missions as you possibly can. The best part is that you can carry up to 12 Town Projects and 6 Faction Missions at one time per settlement, meaning that you can grab a ton of these and complete them in one circuit, then refill each of them at once. They also refresh on a very short timer, which, in practice, translates to these repeatable quests refreshing just as quickly as you complete them!

Town Projects

Town Projects are great for several reasons! As you and other players complete them, you each contribute to upgrades for the Settlement and Fort as well as territory-wide buffs called Lifestyle Improvements.

Upgrades to the Settlement directly improve various crafting stations to higher Tiers, which is important to note because as these crafting stations level up, the Tier of crafted items that you are tasked to deliver in your Town Projects (as well as the rewards granted in exchange for those items) will increase as well.

I repeat: level up all of your trade skills and fill your inventory with as wide a variety of raw resources as you can find in the wild! If you want to be thoroughly rewarded while you work your way up, go looking for Settlements that have lower-tier trade skill stations and do Town Projects in bulk over there.

The trick here is to take each and every Town Project available to you at one time, then complete every single objective in a circuit, return, turn everything in, then take everything on the board and do it all over again. When doing this alongside a full stack of Faction Missions from the same settlement, you'll generally end up going to the same locations to knock out several quests at once.

Simply navigate to your Settlement's Town Project board to begin. You can always find the Town Project board next to the War Board, Territory Planning Board, and Governor's Desk.

Faction Missions

Faction Missions are central to building up your rank within your Faction and exerting your Faction's influence within a territory. Not only will you gain daily XP bonuses to 3 of these Faction missions per day, but they're just as repeatable as Town Projects and - most importantly - tend to overlap quest objectives and destinations, making it easy to do all of these at once.

If you want the biggest reward from Faction Missions, also take on the PVP-based Faction missions, which are a bit more dangerous than their PVE counterparts, but also take you to the same general areas and are easy to clear - since they're objective-based - as long as you don't actually have to fight other players.

Note that while your PVP mode is on, you get a +10% XP bonus from everything you do. Beware: if you do get killed by another player while doing a PVP quest, you lose all of your progress on that quest and need to start over by speaking to your Faction's local representative in town.

All Faction Missions can be started at your Faction's local representative, who has a Faction-related icon over their head and on the map. You can often find them shouting Faction-related propaganda at the top of their lungs, so it's hard to miss 'em.
