Huck, a freshman from Freiburg, Germany, started out Thursday morning with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 comeback victory over Javier Pradillo of Chicago State.
He followed up with a real nail-biter, prevailing against Toledo's Wojciech Szczesny 7-6 after five tiebreaks and then 7-6 after nine tiebreaks.
Huck will take on Notre Dame's Jameson Corsillo on Friday morning with the winner earning a berth in the Maine Draw.
Luuk Wassenaar and Matteo Iaquinto both came up just short of duplicating Huck's accomplishment.
Wassenaar defeated Josh Portnoy of Michigan State 6-0, 6-1 but fell to Illinois State's Nam Pham in round two by a 6-1, 6-0 score.
Iaquinto topped Kazuki Matsuno from host Michigan State 6-1, 6-2 before dropping a 7-5, 6-3 decision to Krzysrtof Wetoszka of Toledo.
Friday's ITA Midwest Regional schedule features the final round of singles qualifying and three rounds of doubles.
